Our recently refurbished gym is part of the £2.5 million development work carried out at the center, offering a range of fitness equipment for everyone. The investment has seen us upgrade the majority of our equipment. The new gym provides over 100 workout stations, this includes a new functional training area with a range of equipment such as the Queenax Rig, kettlebells, core bags and battle ropes. There is also state of the art industry equipment such as the Assault Bike and Assault Air runner as well as a Concept Ski Erg, allowing our members to further train as elite athletes.
There is also a wide range of new traditional equipment for both cardiovascular and weights exercises such as treadmills, bikes, cross trainers and a range of fixed resistance machines as well as free weights ranging from 2kg to 50kg. Finally, we have dedicated stretching areas and fitness aids such as Swiss balls.
For a fitness programme tailored to your needs, just ask one of our fitness instructors and they’ll be happy to put together a workout to suit you. Before using the gym you’ll need to complete an induction, so our fitness instructors can go through the equipment with you and answer any questions you may have to ensure we help you achieve your fitness goals.
Review sessions are also available to you at any time, where our fitness instructors will mix up your fitness programme. Did you know that keeping your workout more varied and challenging will actually keep you much fitter?

Re-Active is a 12 week physical activity referral scheme (PARS) brought to you by the Cheltenham Trust. The 12 week membership incorporates a small range of activity options and is available via your GP or practice nurse. The aim is to work together to increase your physical activity levels.
How can it help you?
Regular physical activity has many health benefits including:
- Reducing risk of cardiovascular disease; colon and breast cancer; type II diabetes; joint and back pain
- Reducing risk of falls, depression and dementia
- Helping to maintain a healthy weight
- Helping to manage stress
- Improved quality of life

- Gym based exercise
- Specific group based exercise
* Participation in activities are dependent on your medical condition(s)
How can you get involved?
If you would like to join the 12 week membership please discuss with your GP or practice nurse. They will check whether you meet the inclusion criteria and if appropriate they will send over your referral. Alternatively you can contact our Exercise Referral Specialist to have an informal discussion about the process (see details below).
What happens next?
Once you have been referred you will have a phone consultation to check the referral information, answer any questions and discuss the cost of the membership. You will then be offered an appointment to complete some paperwork and start your gym based exercise (if relevant).
Once the 12 weeks is complete you can continue on the monthly Re-Active direct debit for a further 9 months to help you maintain your lifestyle change.
Cardiac Rehabilitation (Phase IV)
Cardiac Rehabilitation (Phase IV) classes are offered at the Leisure Centre. We run fully supervised and instructor led cardiac rehabilitation sessions with a Cardiac Rehabilitation specialist. Our sessions run on a Friday 11.30-12.30

Cheltenham: Walk Well
Getting active can be difficult, but our walking for health scheme encourages social, short, purposeful walks to support good health. Our walks are completely FREE and are led by trained volunteer walk leaders. Walks are generally between 30 and 60 minutes and a great way to get out, stretch your legs and meet people.
All of our walks finish with optional refreshments at local pubs and cafes enabling you to have a chat and get to know your fellow walkers. Since 2008 we’ve helped thousands of people enjoy the many benefits of walking, so come on down and join one of the 9 walks that we run across Cheltenham. All you need to do is simply turn up with a sturdy pair of shoes and away you go.

Our all new Kickstarter and Kickstarter+ memberships have landed!
Kickstarter 11-15 membership. Monthly payment £15* or annual option £150 (12 for 10)
*£15 joining fee for pay monthly
This is a supervised gym session for those aged 11-15; it also includes access to our swimming pool during public swim session and access to specified group exercise classes.
This membership will allow anyone aged 11-15 to use the gym from 4-5pm and 5-6pm during the weekday; they can also use the gym over the weekend 1-2pm or anytime with parent supervision. All sessions must be booked at reception before coming in to use the facility.
The current group exercise classes available are:
• Monday Spin cycling 16.15-17.00
• Wednesday Circuit 17.15-18.00
Kickstarter+ 16 & 17 membership. Monthly payment £19* or annual option £190 (12 for 10)
*£15 joining fee for pay monthly
This membership option is for those aged 16-17. It provides members that fall within this age bracket the opportunity to experience our full membership privileges at a reduced rate.
This includes full access to our group exercise programme, swimming pool and health suite (sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi).
